In a new test protocol, Vallourec has successfully qualified its VAM® 21 connections up to 350°C that offers exciting opportunities for geothermal operators. The premium connection was recently installed in two of Geo Dipa Energi’s geothermal wells in the Dieng Plateau in Indonesia withstanding temperatures of up to 330°C.

British oilfield services provider Petrofac recently ran ~20,000 ft of premium connection VAM® 21 in Tailwind’s Evelyn well off the coast of Aberdeen, UK, in the North Sea. With zero rejects recorded during the running, VAM® 21 contributed to a smooth well operation and rig time savings.

Petrobel

CLEANWELL® technology was successfully used by Petrobel in the Zohr gas field, for running corrosion resistant alloy (CRA) pipes. David Crane, VAM® Field Services Engineer, confirmed: “Running CRA pipe with CLEANWELL® was fantastic compared to standard running compounds. Over 5,000 meters of 7" 28CR with VAM® 21 CLEANWELL connections were run into the wells with not a single reject. Back-outs showed no surface damage and we were able to make-up and brake-out with total confidence.”
