Submagnetico, a solution developed by Vallourec, is run with the tubing string, needing no special handling nor external energy source. Submagnetico works by applying a magnetic field on the extracted fluid preventing scale formation in the production string. The high-strength magnets, placed perpendicular to the flow of the fluid, promotes the formation of less stable crystals which reduces its adhesion to the walls.
Submagnetico reduces the number of production stoppages due to incrustation removal. It is resistant to high temperatures, high pressures, and corrosive environments.
