Structural Hollow Sections
Our seamless Structural Hollow Sections are a universal construction element for construction and mechanical engineering applications. They are ideal for all types of steel structures, offering excellent weight-bearing and strength properties to optimize customer’s design. The hollow sections are available in a vast array of grade families with various properties and a comprehensive hollow section sizes including circular, rectangular or special shapes like hexagonal or elliptic and are delivered according to international standards (e.g. EN10210-1; EN10210-3).
Safety, reliability, cost-efficiency and aesthetics: For structural applications, many competing requirements must be addressed.
Ideal for steel structures
Frequently used in architecture, hot-finished Structural Hollow Sections offer numerous advantages compared to other materials.
Reliably strong, they offer a best-in-class sectional properties and buckling resistance. They are easy to use, with unrestricted weldability, even in the corner zones of the square and rectangular sections.
Along with their uniform hardness profile and low residual stresses they provide safe and reliable conditions for manufacturing processes. Glass façades, for instance utilizing Structural Hollow Sections with tight corner radii and fit for purpose wall thickness ensure the façade’s efficiency while also supporting given loads.
Beyond construction, our range of seamless steel tubes are suited for a wide range of applications including:
- Mechanical engineering applications
- Agricultural equipment
- Construction machinery
- Naval and offshore structures
- Cranes and belt conveyers
- and more
Cost-efficiency
- You decide whether you use our wide variety of sizes, wall thicknesses and steel grades.
- You decide whether you us being involved in optimization projects – e. g. positive impact of tight corner radii – with our technical customer service teams.
- You decide whether customized solutions may generate a competitive advantage for you.
Adjusted to international standards
- EN 10210-1 & ISO 12633-1: Typical steels S355J2H, S355NH & S460NH (produced in Europe)
- EN 10210-3: Typical steel S550 up to S960 (Forterior / FineXcell series) (produced in Europe)
- ASTM A500: Typical steels Grade B/C (produced in Brazil)
Structural Grades
Our Structural Hollow Sections are rolled in production locations in Europe and South America. Depending on the technical requirements we offer a wide product portfolio from carbon to high-strength special steels from one hand.

High-strength steels according to EN10210-3:
- Forterior® – the stronger tube: When extra strength is needed (min. yield strength 400 – 620 MPa)
- FineXcell® – The multi performance tube: When highest strength meets weldability (min. yield strength 690 – 960 MPa)
Dimensional ranges for hollow sections
As full liner, our portfolio of dimensional ranges is the widest in the industry. It includes circular tubes, square, rectangular and special shapes like hexagonal or elliptic. Extra-long sections are available upon request.
Typical dimensions are:
- Circular: Outer dimensions from 21.3 mm to 711 mm and wall thicknesses up to 100 mm
- Square: Outer dimensions from 40×40 mm to 300×300 mm and wall thicknesses up to 25 mm
- Rectangular: Outer dimensions from 50×30 mm to 400×200 mm and wall thicknesses up to 25 mm
- Special shapes upon request
Due to our diversified and long-term experience in many business areas, our qualified metallurgists and technical supporting teams are ready to support you at picking the right material.
